Overview:
The mission of the UCLA CDA is to improve adolescent health, education, and well-being through developmental science.

We do this by communicating the opportunities of the adolescent years and sharing the science in ways that positively impact policies and practices that serve young people.

CDA is seeking a Marketing and Communications Associate to join our dynamic team.

This person will play a critical role in supporting the development and execution of internal and external communications and marketing initiatives for CDA.

Under the supervision of the Communications Director, the Marketing and Communications Associate coordinates and facilitates the creative process for internal and external communications, marketing materials, media releases, and advertisements, including but not limited to social and digital media, updating CDA's website, newsletters, posters, printed materials, and mailing lists.

The responsibilities will span a broad range of tasks, including planning and strategizing, project management, writing and editing, basic content design, social media management, and brand management.

From drafting research-based content for diverse audiences and marketing channels to collaborating with cross-functional teams, this position will ensure cohesive, accurate, and effective communication strategies.

The role will also have a focus on analytics and reporting, and will track key performance indicators to provide insights to optimize marketing campaigns.

The Communications and Marketing Associate is directly supervised by CDA's Communication Director.

Working independently, the incumbent prioritizes and completes tasks within assigned goals and objectives and often in collaboration with other CDA teams such as the Co-Executive Directors, Policy and Practice, and Research.

The incumbent uses discretion, organizational skills, judgment, and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in accomplishing duties and tasks within the scope of the position.

Salary & Compensation:
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. (required)
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail. (required)
  • Proven track record of writing and developing marketing and communications materials in a variety of media. (required)
  • Proven experience communicating complex research to nonscientist audiences. (required)
