- Develop expert understanding of organizational operations, the New York State Medicaid Transportation program, key business drivers, workflows, and performance indicators.
- Support the Business Analytics Director and department leaders to identify, evaluate and prioritize data driven organizational objectives and opportunities.
- Establish an information infrastructure that will ensure continuous access & availability to actionable information & program analyses. Collaborate with team members to provide reports supplying optimal informational value and insight.
- Using SQL, PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, develop & maintain data translation methods, reporting tools and analysis models to support the information infrastructure.
- Establish monitoring & alert tools to draw leadership attention to critical, time sensitive information, along with feedback mechanisms.
- Consult with and educate department leadership to ensure understanding of reports & analyses.
- Assist the Director in advancing the MAS data analytic infrastructure.
- Assist the Director with development and enforcement of standards for the process of data collection and analysis.
- Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills to maintain effective relationships with department leaders.
- Reporting & Analysis: Ability to develop tools and approaches of reporting & analyses that support business objectives.
- Data Management: Experience with managing large data sets, data translation, data integration & manipulation.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Preferred Microsoft SQL Skills & Abilities: SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Preferred Microsoft Power Platform Skills & Abilities: Power BI, Power Automate, DAX.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business or a related subject is preferred.
- Microsoft SQL & Microsoft Power BI certifications, with demonstrable experience is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Medical Answering Services (MAS) Connects Medicaid enrollees to health care through non-emergency transportation because we believe healthier communities exist when its members have seamless access to healthcare.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of Business Analytics department leadership, the Senior Business Data Analyst ("the Analyst") will play a key role in bringing data insights to help optimize program management, improve performance, and properly address opportunities & risks. The Analyst will implement analytical approaches and methodologies to translate and organize data into analyses & reports. Utilizing SQL, PowerBI & Advanced Excel, the Analyst will develop actionable information infrastructures by implementing data collection systems, data reporting and data modeling to optimize statistical efficiency and quality of data used by MAS management. The Analyst will be a champion of data management standards, quality & accuracy.
