Description

The Austin Apartment Association is seeking an Event Coordinator to join our team for a Summer internship, to assist in planning and executing events and creating opportunities for individuals in the multi-housing industry to connect and grow.

From conception to delivery, the Events Coordinator assists with fundraising activities, networking and social events, community outreach activities and general membership meetings.

• Executes various programs such as awards, annual trade show, community service events, fundraisers, etc.
• Communicate with members to understand their event needs and preferences
• Evaluates programming, data collection and reporting on key performance measures
• Manage expenses and event budgets effectively
• Coordinate event logistics, including setup and breakdown
• Supports the marketing of events and sponsors
• Market events to attract attendees and increase participation
• Maintains event data and registrations, supports accounting for invoicing and billing
• Ensure all events run smoothly and handle any issues that may arise

• Previous experience in event planning or related roles is a plus
• Familiarity with budgeting processes for events
• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of event marketing strategies to promote and attract attendees
• Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and practices

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively plan and coordinate events
• Excellent time management skills to ensure events are executed on schedule
• Experience in budgeting and financial management for events
• Exceptional customer service skills to provide a positive experience for attendees and volunteers

• Flexible schedule

• 4 hour shift
• Evenings as needed
• Monday to Friday
