- Clinical care of patients including assessments through interviews, chart/history review, and psychological testing procedures; treatment including individual, play, group or family psychotherapy.
- Conduct clinical research in projects which are in line with Children's mission and hospital/department applicable service line goals.
- Psychologists hired prior to 2005 do not carry these responsibilities
- Masters Degree
- PhD Degree
- Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Texas Req
- Must become certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology or American Board of Sleep Medicine within 7 years of obtaining privileges per departmental requirements. Psychologists hired prior to 2005 are exempt from this requirement.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 60 Days, Req

Summary:
A Psychologist is an individual licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists for the independent practiced of psychology who is not a member of the Medical/Dental Staff.
They are responsible for providing psychological assessments and interventions to patients and families and for supporting the strategic priorities of Children's Health and expanding the knowledge base of effective treatment and care.
