MARINE PRODUCT MANAGER, Heat Exchanger Systems

Position Summary


The Product Manager for the Nikkiso Heat Exchanger Systems Marine equipment product family is responsible for managing the product development, training, and technical & commercial sales support.


Essential Functions

  • Establish new accounts and services by identifying potential customers.
  • Build on past project successes by formulating new project execution strategies with existing customers.
  • Provide product, service, and equipment technical and engineering support by responding to technical inquiries from customers or sales personnel.
  • Manage the FSRU product lines of Nikkiso Heat Exchanger Systems by taking a leading role in initiating the product development effort of these products while advising on adaptations of products and engineering services.
  • Develop plan with Sales Managers to determine financial objectives per product line/family.
  • Assist our sales personnel throughout the organization, including international facilities, with all necessary technical and commercial input to grow our market share.
  • Assist with the development of training material and programs needed to increase the knowledge and competence of our sales personnel.
  • Develop customer staff by providing technical information and facilitating training.
  • Support the Sales Managers efforts to achieve their functional unit objectives in any given market.
  • Monitor the business through Salesforce and periodic followups with the Sales Managers.
  • Participate in the quarterly Business Review Meetings set by the functional unit.
  • Work with the Product Company to ensure that our products are constantly being developed to include innovative features and added benefits to the customer.
  • Manage the market pricing between our manufacturing and sales entities, ensuring that our local price strategy is competitive across the different territories.
  • Travel between CQP facilities, affiliated companies, and customer facilities as necessary for business development and management initiatives.
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote customer focus throughout the company.
  • Support QMS requirements in areas of responsibility for conformance with international requirements and state and federal regulations.

Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Cryogenic heat exchanger & market knowledge.
  • Sales support with technical and commercial issues for custom and standard machinery.
  • Exposure to pricing strategy and analysis.
  • Heat Exchanger system knowledge.
  • Fluency (written & oral) of English
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Creative thinking capabilities.

  • Ability to work under critical schedules having in mind the final targeted results planned by management.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or related field.
  • Heat Exchanger Product and Program Management.
  • Experience in cryogenic heat exchanger system design

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write.
  • Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool or climb, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, copiers, etc.
  • Lift files and open desk drawers and filing cabinets.
  • Work in both office and shop environments at customer and company sites,
  • Conditions may vary at each location, yet are essentially the same as listed,
  • Global travel.
  • Extended stays at a customer's work site, domestic or international.
