The Regional Manager is responsible for the overall operation, functionality, profitability and administrative requirements for the branch assigned.

The Regional Manager will be accountable for the functional, administrative, financial, business, and broad company objectives within their assigned branch to include facilities, assets, and employees.

In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy and management/leadership of hourly/ salary staff of the entire branch.

This position reports directly to the President as required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify and develop new opportunities. Develop and deliver multiple projects from concept through completion using a team whose sole focus is obtaining the corporate goals. Being a Regional Manager requires skills in program management, leadership, and financial management and combines the ability and resources to identify, define, plan, implement, and integrate every aspect of corporate objectives within one's area of responsibility.
  • Provide corporate support regarding assigned regions job assignments, budget and current projects
  • Supports human resource and corporate objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customerservice standards; resolving problems; participate in audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting program requirements; preparing an annual budget for assigned program; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Develop and disperse project budgets to Superiors and Subordinates.
  • Investigate deviances in man/hour projections and revenue projections to determine cause (change in scope, poor performance, other) to minimize exposure or recognize source of additional revenue.
  • Perform an overall job analysis with Production and Estimating Departments to review performance and establish standards for future work
  • Communicate with leadership, provide updates as required and complete all required reports.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering or related field (preferred)
  • At least 10 years of management in the ship repair industry
  • Must have a background of industrial work and knowledge of different production and process plants
  • Industrial sales experience
  • Familiar with industrial safety and quality assurance
  • Familiar with Maritime safety and quality assurance
  • Background in traveling overseas and interrelating with foreign militaries, state dept, travel procedures and regulations
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA and a history of dealing with them
  • Experience working on Navy ships
  • Experience working with ABS or NBIC repair criteria
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a passport
  • Ability to Gain Access to Controlled Areas (Badging)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Must have strong work ethic, be se1fmotivated, and able to multitask
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment with ongoing deadlines
  • Basic understanding of Accounts Payable and Receivable to include invoicing
  • Experience with staffing and people management
  • Experience in promoting process improvement
  • Experience in managing profitability, financial planning and strategy
  • Ability to read and understand drawings/ blueprints

Working Conditions:

  • Openair conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, as well as in an officecontrolled environment.
  • May have to visit projects aboard ships, rigs both on and offshore as well as confined spaces. Must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE when required.
  • Visits may require standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.
  • Some travel may be required (~10% per year on average)
