SummaryThe Bringing the Change Program seeks teaching assistants to provide individualized attention to participating middle school students. In addition, assistant teachers lead recreation each afternoon and visit amusement parks each Friday. A key aspect of the program is a leadership development seminar. Additional events, such as a trip to a Red Sox game, are arranged for assistant teachers on their own.
The Bringing the Change Program
This program will be run over the course of - 6 weeks during the summer
Responsibilities:
- Foster community among students
- Encourage development of math and language arts skills
- Support creative problem solving
- Participate in initial 4day training, parent orientation and weekly staff meetings
- Participate in 5P's, leadership seminar that meets 3 times a week, 79 PM
- Other responsibilities as needed
- Reports to Site Coordinator and Program Director
Qualifications:
- Energetic, charismatic, reliable selfstarter
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity in working with highneed innercity students
- Ability to build rapport with middle schoolage students
- Strong math and language arts skills
- Enrollment in or completion of college program
- Experience managing innercity students preferred
Program:
Mon-Fri 8:20 am - 5:00 pm, July - Aug 9
Orientation:
July 2, July 3 and July 5 (9:30 am - 3:30 pm).
Job Types:

Pay:
$ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week
