Description

The Cashier is responsible for carrying out tasks under the direction of the Office Manager and/or Assistant Office Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Front-end department. **The Cashier plays a key role in ensuring that all Kennie's customers receive top-notch customer service.**

Requirements:
- **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**: No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided.
- **LANGUAGE SKILLS**: Must be able to comprehend basic instructions, short messages, and memos. Should be capable of presenting information effectively to customers in one-on-one and small group settings.
- **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, as well as work with American currency and weight measurements.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Follow front end security procedures
- Apply paid stickers as required for purchase validation
- Notify appropriate personnel in cases of theft or shoplifting
- Check the bottom of the cart
- Handle all forms of payment and coupons correctly
- Count and enter cash accurately into the register system
- Verify and process checks properly in the register system
- Manage food stamps, EBT, and WIC transactions accurately
- Ensure validation and correct entry of coupons
- Maintain an organized cash register
- Scan and process customer orders efficiently and accurately
- Promote Kennie's Card sign-up to customers
- Verify cart contents and scan items accurately
- Handle merchandise carefully and avoid throwing items
- Obtain prices for unidentifiable items and report price discrepancies
- Adhere to company uniform and name badge policies
- Assist with front end maintenance and cleanliness
- Perform assigned tasks delegated by Frontend Manager
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments for store promotions
- Adhere to safety and loss prevention standards

- Carry out other duties as instructed by management
