Facilities Supervisor - Washington, United States - US Architect of the Capitol

Duties:
Tour of duty for this position: Monday - Friday, third shift overnight. This is not a telework eligible position.
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Senate Office Buildings, Assistant Superintendent, Client Services Division, Labor and Custodial Branch, Night Labor and Custodial Section.

Supervise a night custodial and trade workforce in the performance of their duties associated with building operations, maintenance and cleaning functions
Coordinates and accomplishes special projects assigned by the Superintendent.
Advises the Labor and Custodial Operations Manager and/or Assistant Superintendent, Client Services, SOB, on maintenance, repair and cleaning work needed.
Consults with the Labor and Custodial Operations Manager for employee related matters regarding American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 626.
Provides advice and makes recommendations to the Superintendent on problems or critical matters as they pertain to building operations, maintenance, and cleanliness during the night shift operations.

Analyzes and evaluates requests for services.
Responsible for short
- and long-range planning, establishing goals, working in a team environment and interfacing closely with Superintendents Office in support of SOB operational needs.
Oversees the performance of administrative and technical functions for night labor and custodial employees.
Resolves complaints and grievances as delegated by higher level supervisors.
Counsels' employees on disciplinary problems, and other matters as required
Responsible for utilizing knowledge and compliance applicable AOC and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Specialized experience is defined as having (3) three of the (5) four following: (experience MUST be identified in resume)
- Directs the management and administration of the operations of the Labor and Custodial Section.
- Plans and directs the overall work of the Labor and Custodial Section
- Exercises responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units and in advising senior management officials.
- Frequent contact with Senators, their staff members, committee staffs, supervisors, contractors and vendors.
