This position is based at Nikkiso ACD, LLC, located in Santa Ana, CA.


Job Overview:

Position Summary:


Import-Export Coordinator will be responsible for handling and overseeing all aspects of import and export operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing logistics efficiency.

They will communicate with multiple departments, including Customer Service, Planning, Shipping, Project Management, Purchasing and Trade Compliance, as well as external stakeholders such as vendors and customers to assure seamless logistics process.


Responsibilities:


Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate import and export shipments, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation arrangements.
  • Prepare required export documents, including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Shipper's Letter of Instructions, Certificate of Origin, and other as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including tariff codes, trade agreements, and licensing requirements.
  • Communicate with freight forwarders to obtain quotes, book shipments, monitor shipment schedules, track deliveries, and resolve any issues or delays in a timely manner.
  • Create document packets for customers and send timely prealerts. Respond to customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues.
  • Assure proper recordkeeping of import and export documentation.

  • Ability to effectively use Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in import or export handling, preferably with a manufacturing or freight forwarding company.

Work Environment


This job will operate in a professional office environment and will require the routine use of standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.


Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required will include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

This job will also require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary.


Environmental Safety Requirements

  • Complete safety training requirements
  • Participate in other training as directed by the company or manager
  • Wear Nikkiso approved PPE as needed
  • Ensure all safety requirements and PPE requirements are enforced as needed
  • Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination._
