- Inspects and/or tests parts or products being fabricated, assembled, welded or otherwise manufactured to assure compliance with quality standards.
- Documents inspections and tests.
- Accepts or rejects material or assemblies not conforming to design specifications or approved deviations.
- Inspects purchased parts and specialty items from supplier and sets up disposition procedures for unacceptable material.
- Consults with engineering for alternate methods and/or brings to attention of production supervision in cases of product problem areas or faulty workmanship.
- Maintains records and files pertaining to quality control/inspection of products.
- Good knowledge of detail and assembly drawings used in manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of codes, standards and regulations applicable to focus of manufacturing area assigned.
- Ability to use tools, gages, measuring devices and test equipment necessary for the inspection process.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to interface well with plant supervisors, managers and customer quality assurance personnel.
