Basic Function The Information Technology Manager will plan, direct, and manage the IT Department to ensure the development and implementation of cost-effective systems, infrastructure, and secure operations to meet current and future business needs.
- Develop and implement IT policy and best practices for the organization.
- Conduct routine evaluations of the network to ensure data security, network access, disaster recovery, and backup systems.
- Due to our global nature, WWT outsources IT support services. The IT manager assigns duties, manages, and oversees the performance of these Managed Services.
- Accountable for user desktop support experience.
- KPIs include timeliness, effectiveness, and overall improvement in technology solutions for individual users.
- Create workshops and training programs for staff.
- Complete annual IT budget, to include ongoing monthly costs and onceoff capital expenditure for presentation to and approval by President and CFO.
- Manage annual budget and ensure costeffectiveness.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
Typical responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures across all WWT offices and site locations in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Understand WWT's core business to ensure IT strategies and policies align with business objectives.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the organization's data and IT infrastructure through the development and implementation of robust cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support to staff, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the timely resolution of ITrelated problems.
- Develop and manage the IT department budget and ensure the efficient and effective use of IT resources.
- Acquisition and maintenance of software licensing, patching and renewal contracts.
- Manage consulting scope of work and contractor engagements.
- Collaborate with Senior Management, Regional and Department heads, and staff to identify technological needs and opportunities that can enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements to ensure the successful delivery of IT projects, services, and equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies to enhance business operations and improve efficiency.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT management and governance.
- Assist Senior management to develop a rolling fiveyear plan of operation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT and Governmental Policies.
Skills/Education/Training
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
- Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
- Strong people management and leadership skills, ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.
- Ability to develop solutions to complex problems, recommend and lead operational change as technical leader.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to multitask, work under pressure, prioritize work, be resourceful, and responsible to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Enterprise Solutions, Windows software, including server, office, and exchange.
- Flexible working hours.
