Job Summary:


The Family Child Care System is a program of Pernet Family Health Service according to the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) operational standards.

This position will be responsible for visiting childcare facilities to encourage healthy child caregiving interactions and to build trust with home childcare providers by offering educational and EEC regulations support.

In Addition, the home visitor connects the Family Childcare educator with community resources available in the area based on specific child, and family needs.


Specific responsibilities:


  • With the FCC (Family Childcare) Director, and the Senior Coordinator organize visits, and document and keep files.
  • Ensure and reinforce children's health, safety, and welfare on the home childcare visits according with the Early Education and Care regulations.
  • Document observations of the visits.
  • Participate in Professional Development training.
  • To assist in the evaluation and documentation of supportive children's performance in the FCC homes.
  • Keep children and provider records.
  • Get calls from providers, and assign children based on license capacity, and EEC regulations.
  • Liaise with colleagues, parents, and guardians to meet the individual needs of each child in each program.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the FCC System Director.

Qualifications:


  • Has a Child Development Association Certificate, or an associate degree in Early Education and/or a related field.
  • Be able to pass background check in Family Childcare and be familiar with Early Education and Care regulations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner, flexible, selfmotivated, and good team member.
  • Able to demonstrate empathy and compassion in dealing with families and children.
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to children who experience trauma, socialeconomic diversity and their caregivers.
  • Must be able to stoop, crawl and bend in order to support children.
  • Access to a car during working hours.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Attends all staff meetings and trainings unless excused by supervisor.
  • Maintains confidentiality according to agency policy.
  • Meets with supervisor regularly.

From $22.00 per hour
