The
Director, Distribution Operations is a leadership role within Waterworks Supply Chain organization.

The primary focus of this position will be to redefining distribution strategies to harmonize supply chain processes with the overarching goals and objectives of the company.


You will be the strategic partner to other Supply Chain leaders and cross functional teams and are charged with overseeing and enhancing the operations of a multi-site distribution supply chain ensuring optimal performance.

This includes developing and executing a distribution and logistics strategy aimed to achieving superior service levels at mínimal costs, efficient asset utilization, inventory management and continuous quality enhancement, safety protocols, and fostering leadership among associates.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for developing and overseeing strategic operational plans for warehousing and logistics, encompassing initiatives such as personnel development, vendor relationships, process optimization, capital expenditures, space utilization, and system enhancements.
  • Recognizes, spearheads, cultivates, and leads initiatives aimed at enhancing value through the exploration and execution of a global warehousing and distribution strategy.
  • Recruit, lead and develop directreporting management team; ensure full warehouse/operations team is engaged and performing to company expectations, values and vision; manage personnel relations with professionalism and confidentially.
  • Collaborate with direct management team to foster associate engagement, feedback, training, recognition and professional development
  • Responsible for budget creation and management including all capital and operating expenses within warehouse operations and logistics network.
  • Develop, manage and report on necessary analytics for warehousing and logistics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monitoring, analysis and trend reporting in partnership with Finance.
  • Establishes and nurtures vendor relationships, maintaining partnerships through contractual agreements. Manages carrier connections and implements optimal practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Track and assess supplier performance around shipping; evaluates freight vendors based on criteria such as pricing, quality, and service and holds vendors accountable for meeting service level expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with departmental managers and the senior leadership team to ensure coherence in strategic objectives, drive the implementation of advanced business strategies, and build strong partnerships, while concurrently addressing daily operational requirements.
  • In charge of ensuring the safety, security and maintenance of the building premises, overseeing product inventory protection, managing security systems, and implementing measures for loss prevention.
  • Adhere to required safety training policies and enforcing associate safety protocols; provide safety training to warehouse staff and comply with all OSHA standards and inspections.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Sales and Customer Service departments to drive exceptional service levels and execute quarterly sales plans.
  • Other accountabilities as assigned.

Requirements for Success:


  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience
  • 710 years' experience in retail distribution environment with multisite facilities
  • Some experience with domestic and International logistics
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to create a positive culture through leading and engaging team
  • Sense of urgency and quick problemsolving skills
  • Skilled in negotiations with vendors/freight carriers
  • Experience in budgeting, project management and analytics
  • Knowledge of warehousing and logistics systems and integrations
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements (OSHA) and any applicable federal, state and local guidelines
  • Proficient in use of MS 365 Office Suite with advance knowledge of Excel
  • Travel required (domestic/international) up to 10%
