Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) seeks an exceptional
EARLY CHILDHOOD PRE-K TEACHER who is highly qualified and skillful to join our community of teachers, students and stakeholders.

Under the direction of the school principal and/or appropriate supervisor/ Administrator and consistent with the Providence Public Schools' vision and mission, the Pre-K Education teacher is to work in partnership with parents, students, and the general education teachers to promote student achievement.
Additionally, the Pre-K Elementary Educator will:
Provide daily instruction based on the Rl Early Learning and Development Standards, the Providence School Department's District Curriculum, and/or student's Individualized Education Program (IEP's).
Implement, develop and case manage their students' services and IEPs in accordance with State and Federal Regulations.EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
BA in applicable field from accredited college or university

ECH PK-2 and ECH Sp. Ed. PK-2
ESL Preferred
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES:
- Administer appropriate district curriculum which is aligned with the Rhode Island State Standard.
- Plan daily developmentally appropriate activities, based on the RIELDS.
- Submit plans on a bi monthly basis.
- Work collaboratively with an Early Childhood Itinerant Special Education Teacher in order to provide appropriate learning opportunities for the children with IEPs.
- Work and teach collaboratively with the special education teachers and paraprofessionals utilizing the itinerant Special Education/Coaching Model
- Sharing planning and instructional responsibility for all students.
- Complete biannually narrative progress reports for prekindergarten children in the class utilizing authentic assessment data.
- Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment;
- Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and purposefully planned, playbased learning environment.
- Provide a classroom management/discipline plan ensuring safety at all times;
- Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans as identified by student need;
- Integrate technology into the instructional program when appropriate not to exceed half hour daily.
- Implement researchbased developmentally appropriate instruction to support the unique academic, social, and behavioral needs of students taking into account strengths, needs, areas of interest and family culture.
- Collect, administer and report progress monitoring data for all student goals;
- Adhere to federal, state, and local mandates.
- Ensure that students with disabilities receive a free appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.
- Conducts, implements authentic assessment techniques and utilizes the Assessment tool as outlined by the District to plan intentional learning opportunities for the children in the class.
- Proficient in the language of instruction (including reading, writing, and speaking).
- Participates in 20 hours of summer professional development.
- Maintain a web based portfolio and outcomes data on all of the children assigned to the prek class.
- Maintain a professional portfolio on the Exceed Website Develop and provide daily, authentic prekindergarten learning experiences aligned with the RI Early Learning and Development Standards for all students.
- Utilize positive behavioral supports as appropriate Work professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and community; Develop a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
- Ensures that the appropriate accommodations and modifications are being implemented to meet the special needs of their students.
- Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Provides and implements appropriate accommodations for all types of formal assessments.
