Position Type/Expected hours:

This is a salaried position with the expected work hours being 8a-5p with some extended hours including nights and weekends.

Some overnight stays may also be required.


Location:
Northern IL, with a 6-month training period in Avalon, WI


Pay:
$50-$82,000 based on experience


2 years of grain marketing/sales experience required


As a Grain Commodities Coordinator, your primary responsibilities include overseeing a customer book of business and cultivating relationships with growers.

This position involves the execution and service of grain marketing plans, sales, and strategic efforts to optimize grain marketing sales.

This entails staying informed and up-to-date on grain marketing tools and market news.


Primary Job Functions:

Risk Management:


  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of evolving onfarm risk management dynamics by offering advanced ideas tailored to current market trends and operational requirements. Stay informed about risk management tools for grain marketing. Demonstrate the capability to communicate essential grain marketing practices and terminology effectively to individuals with varying levels of experience.

Customer Service:


  • Manage the daytoday needs of customer accounts. Maintaining a positive relationship for all customers. Frequent in person interactions and sales calls are required.

Merchandising/Origination

  • Advance knowledge in buying grain from farmers.
Know and utilize common contracts such as forward contracting, HTAs, Basis, etc.

Accounting/ Administration:


  • Basic understanding of accounting software Agris, contract/ticket/settlement review, customer account review

Team Player:


  • Collaborate with various team members to help grow and develop additional company offerings and processes. Work together to identify prospective customers and perform other joint tasks as necessary.

- **Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Following and enforcing all DeLong Grain Policies. Track and present information related to personal sales progress. Communicate market changes and news verbally and written. Maintain accurate and organized documentation.

Required Education and Experience:


  • 2 years of grain marketing experience
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of agriculture and risk management within the Delong Company's territory or identified growth area.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous professional experience with negation and communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent agricultural/sales related work experience required.
  • Degree preferences: Agriculture, Economics, Accounting, Business, Finance

Preferred Skills:


  • General knowledge of agronomy, farm operations, and elevator operations
  • Understand the unique valueadded offerings that are provided by the organization
  • Series 3 exam
  • Proficient with technology: computer and mobile devices

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:


  • Confidentiality and nondisclosure of customer information is necessary.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and ability to lift up to 30lbs may be necessary.
  • Energetic and selfdriven professional with a strong background in agriculture.
  • Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and flexibility to work in different office settings (traditional and "onfarm").
  • Valid Driver's License & proof of auto insurance required.
