Responsibilities:


  • Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment, plans for, and takes corrective action as directed. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Tests equipment to check operation and cleans jams. Runs equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime. Make preventive maintenance checks and inspections.
  • Notifies the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic of reoccurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action recommended, and of quality, problems or supplies needed. Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain a variety of mechanical/electrical equipment including air compressors, repair rollers, chains, bearings, install seals, sprockets, chillers, gearboxes, pumps, fans, valves, motors, extruders, dies, grinders, winders, bag machines and various other support equipment of this plant.
  • Uses full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before start of a job.

Qualifications:

  • 3 Years of Industrial Maintenance experience necessary.
  • Previous knowledge of machinery used in polyethylene film manufacturing, a plus.
  • Background in any of the following: mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints to plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools.
  • Knowledge on mechanical and electrical principles and machining practices. Knowledge on concerning modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machineshop practices and techniques, preferred.
  • Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problems, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation, and to be attentive to detail.
  • Proficient at using electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
