The Automation Engineer will be responsible for implementing and supporting automation systems including PLC's, Machine Vision, Motion, and SCADA systems.
The Automation Engineer will partner with the plant floor leaders, engineering, and the automation manager to support production equipment improvements, controls upgrades, and capital projects that help deliver plant performance.
Your responsibilitiesContribute to the development and implementation of automation plans to achieve IT-Automation strategy
Provide technical support for design, development, and implementation of automation and control systems
Develop and cultivate technical experience within automation department
Support capital projects from the design process, factory acceptance throughout installation, and debug
Optimize performance of automated equipment, inspection equipment and robotic work-cells on the plant floor
Create training instructions and standard operating procedures for routine tasks
Review, update, and development or revision of automation Standard Operating Procedures
Capable of analyzing data and initiating data-driven thinking and decision making
Provides support of site automation and integration standards when working with capital engineering and external contractors for standards adherence
Perform periodic reviews of validated equipment, control systems, and production network
Ensures that all automation designs and technical documentation adhere to GMP and GAMP-5 standards
Perform 21CFRPart11 assessments and GAMP evaluations of control systems to ensure they meet FDA requirements
Develop User Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications, Design Specifications, administration and support procedures, and user procedures (WI or SOP) for new and existing process automation
Identify opportunities for enhancement and performance improvement of automation systems and implement projects as required, including change control, design, commissioning, validation and hardware/software changes
Assists development and execution of FAT, SAT, Commissioning & Computerized System Validation (CSV) protocols related to process automation and control systems
Implements best practices to create competitive advantage for the site
Continually plan, develop, and complete equipment improvement projects focused on modernized controls
Manage vendors and vendor relationships to ensure implementation and support of automated systems
The experience we're looking for
Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and Process hardware & software's including, but not limited to:
Associates or bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience required
Ability to use root cause problem solving tools to solve complex controls problems
Sound understanding of company safety, environmental, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Principles) practices
Experience implementing computerized systems in an industrial manufacturing environment
Experience in dealing with CSV and validated systems within a regulated manufacturing environment

US pay transparency
The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.
In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
