    Outlying areas include the following:
    Arvin / Lamont

    Boron

    Buena Vista

    Buttonwillow

    California City

    Delano / McFarland

    Edwards / Rosamond

    Frazier Park / Lebec

    Lake Isabella / Kernville

    Mojave

    Ridgecrest / Inyokern

    Shafter / Wasco

    Taft / Maricopa

    Tehachapi


    Candidates must indicate their willingness to work in one or more of the above locations or their application will be rejected.

    Candidates MUST be willing to travel to these locations.


    EXAMINATION SCHEDULE:
    Qualified candidates will be notified of the testing date five days prior to the examination.


    Examination:
    Written Exam (Weight 100%):


    Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of inventory maintenance principles; customer service principles; standard office procedures, methods, and equipment; basic filing and recordkeeping principles; basic mathematical concepts; English language, grammar, and punctuation.

    Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on the examination.


    The Human Resources Division may solely conduct an appraisal of application materials should there be an insufficient number of candidates to warrant a written examination.


    Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards:
    High School Diploma, G.E.D.

    or equivalent and two years of clerical, general computer and office experience directly related to the area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.


    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Some Positions May Require:

    • Possession of a Valid California Driver's License.
    • Proficiency in the use of word processing software, such as Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.

    Admittance to each phase of the examination will require a Government issued photograph identification.

    Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.

    A background check may be conducted for this classification.


    Following an offer of an employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.

    This examination will establish an eligible list from which permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed.

    Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
