    Description

    Our client, a global provider of systems and components for freight and transit railcars and locomotives, is looking for a Sr Buyer to join their team

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensures seamless execution of procurement duties, aligning with company policies.
    • Engages in direct negotiations with vendors to secure favorable pricing and flexible payment terms.
    • Strategizes inventory management to optimize working capital and enhance product availability for customer satisfaction.
    • Innovates cost-saving initiatives across product and service procurement.
    • Collaborates with vendors to introduce new products to the operations team.
    • Resolves supplier and contractor disputes effectively.
    • Assumes leadership roles in designated projects as necessary.
    • Conducting market research to identify potential vendors and evaluate their products and services.
    • Developing and implementing procurement strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs.
    • Monitoring market trends and supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
    • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments and external suppliers.
    • Analyzing data and generating reports to track procurement performance and identify areas for improvement.

    Qualification:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
    • Proven track record in procurement.
    • Proficient problem-solving abilities and analytical acumen.
    • Demonstrated expertise in negotiation and procurement operations.
    • Experience in interdepartmental collaboration and leading cross-functional teams.
    • High-energy, self-motivated individual with a results-driven mindset and a propensity for sharing innovative ideas.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
    • Understanding of contractual language and its practical application.
