Position Summary

  • Days & Hours: Depending on work function, must be flexible to work 8 or 10hour shifts as assigned.
  • If any language in this posting conflicts with the CBA between SJG & L76 the CBA shall prevail.

Rate Schedule post-2009:

Qualifying Rate:
$21.50- Year 1 - $22.75- Year 2 - $25.27- Year 3 - $27.25- Year 4- $28.29- Year 5- $30.15- Year 6/ Job Rate - $39.42- Essential Functions: Operations Technicians may be assigned by the Company to perform all aspects of work within the Street/Utility Job Family including, but not limited to:Completing all phases of core utility work regarding customer service and meter and gas pressure regulator installations.

  • Conducting leak investigations and responding to emergencies of any nature.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining distribution mains and services.
  • Operating mechanical equipment.
  • Other duties as defined by the CBA for the Street/Utility Job Family.
Initial assignments will be as follows: Street


Qualifications:


  • Required Background:
  • High School Diploma or GED
All applicants must pass pre-employment hands-on assessment
A valid NJ Driver's License

  • Must be available for standby responsibilities and emergency work when required.
