Summary:

The Landscape Manager will perform high-level management, coordination, and oversight of the companies' landscaping and irrigation operation. Directing personnel and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective landscaping, and irrigation services. Responsible for scheduling and training/developing landscape laborers and irrigation technicians.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Manager the landscape maintenance, irrigation, landscape construction, and pest control employees.
  • Prepare and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on equipment and safety and quality standards.
  • Ensures all staff are compliant with certifications/licenses.

Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Manage lawn maintenance, irrigation, pesticide, and landscape construction/pressure washing services. Including the coordination of all materials, people, and equipment required to produce quality work.
  • Oversees the daily workflow, schedule, and assignments.
  • Inspect property and schedule service to properly prepare specific action plan for service.
  • Monitor all aspects of the irrigation system and identify any problems.
  • Perform handson work with crew to meet work and scheduling demands.
  • Handson training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, installation techniques, safety, and quality standards.
  • Focus on safety and monitor safety records.
  • Maintain and manage all required administrative systems, including but not limited to time sheets, job databases, and service schedules.
  • Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries.
  • Review plans and job cost estimating.
  • Design build of new construction.
  • Request purchase orders and use in accordance with company guidelines.
  • In conjunction with company management develop and manage department P & L budget.
  • Ensures all reports are complete and correct within the established time frame.
  • This position is considered Team A: Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster.

Required Skills / Abilities:


  • Excellent leadership skills including critical thinking and ability to solve complex problems, conflict resolution, and decisionmaking, diplomatic, respectable, teamoriented, and motivator.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals and situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and followup in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to operate small machines and equipment, such as zeroturn lawnmowers, trimmers, backpack blowers, walkbehind trenchers, and mini excavators, and willing to be a working foreman.
  • Must be able to read blueprints/plan sheets and specifications.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education / Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years related landscaping and irrigation management required.
  • 3+ years management/supervisory experience.
  • Irrigation contractor's license with knowledge in irrigation design and functionality.
  • Knowledge of installation, programming, and troubleshooting systems such as Baseline, Hunter ACC2, and 2wire.
  • Landscape Design Certification is required.
  • Florida Pest Control Certification is required.
  • Valid driver's license with Class D. Clean DMVR and current auto insurance coverage.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and pulling.
  • Frequently required to lift or move pounds with assistance.
  • Constantly working outdoors must be able to work in various types of weather conditions and exposure to the elements (extreme heat, cold, preparing for severe weather, etc.).
  • Heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy.
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
