    Description

    Deploy new Tinder features; iterate on existing Tinder features to make them more performing; utilize JavaScript, Java, , No SQL and Redis to assist with building quality tools and frameworks to ensure a high-quality product; build systems to ensure 100% uptime of Tinder for all users across the world; design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; store, retrieve and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements; ensure that technical designs support goals of quality, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, maintainability, and security; design, develop, and operate resilient distributed services that run on ECS or Kubernetes; improve the KPI of Tinder ecosystem by building variants of tools and platforms including A/B testing platform and simulation system; build and maintain machine learning features generation pipeline and integrate machine learning models into recommendation systems to adopt modern machine learning algorithms; design and apply advanced caching strategies to improve system performance and reduce latency, primarily on functionalities that require heavy use of our backend like the Dynamic UI Nudge; take the lead on enhancing the API Gateway layer, including rate limiting, request filtering, and other aspects of request and response transformation in order to support the expansion of Dynamic UI to allow for more requests for configuration and for data.

    Position allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.


    Salary:
    $125,000 - $160,000 per year


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Bachelor's degree or U.S.

    equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as Backend Engineer, Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving backend software engineering.

    In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S.

    equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, plus 1 year of professional experience as Backend Engineer, Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving backend software engineering.

    Must also have experience in the following: 1 year of professional experience performing backend software engineering (including planning, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software systems or applications); 1 year of professional experience using backend languages (including Javascript or Java) to design, develop, and modify software systems; 1 year of professional experience developing large-scale distributed real-time systems; 1 year of professional experience using Application Programming Interface (API) to design, develop, and modify software systems; 1 year of professional experience writing comprehensive unit and regression tests; and 1 year of professional experience operating databases (including Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra)
