- 75% of time will be providing small group instruction and support
- Provide small group instruction for struggling readers, focusing on improving specific reading skills
- Work with teachers to design methods of learning and appropriate interventions
- Analyze student data and provide teachers with suggestions
- Provide differentiated instructional and resource support for teachers. This would include mentoring novice teachers, modeling lessons, helping teachers plan and providing non-evaluative observations to provide additional feedback on best practices.
- Collaborate with curriculum facilitator on ways to coach struggling teachers (whole and small group)
- Assist with MClass assessments during all benchmark windows
- Responsible for monitoring, reporting and communicating student progress and performance.

Job Summary:The role of the interventionist is to address the specific needs of students when regular classroom instruction is not sufficient. The interventionist will provide small group instruction and work with teachers to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for students. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Masters degree with emphasis on the area of specialty, curriculum, or administration. Proven record of excellence as a classroom teacher with predictive characteristics of an outstanding administrator. Experience as a presenter in staff development programs.
Special Requirements:
Must possess a teaching certificate from the State of North Carolina. Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, calculators, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
