Job Duties:
Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all field instrumentation, control systems, analyzers and electrical equipment including Injection well controllers, facility PLC's and producing substations; measure and troubleshoot low voltage and DC devices including transmitters, actuators, radios, flow meters; able to connect and troubleshoot PLC's.
utilizing Rockwell Automation software including Allen Bradley, FactoryTalk, Studio 5000, Logic 500Responsible for prompt and accurate diagnosis of minor problems and the implementation of corrective action.
Consult directly with equipment vendors on problems for resolution as necessaryCoordinate and conduct well maintenance activities on wells and batteries for maintenance, upgrades, recurring problems where root cause cannot be identified by Well TechCoordinate and conduct maintenance activities on end devices to include pre-programming of transmitters and ensure data accuracy on all fluid and gas measurement metersLeverage CMMS, such as SAP, to facilitate the processes of maintenance operationsConduct in depth failure analysis on repeat equipment failuresEnsure design for wells are within guide lines of automation standardsRespond and provide automation support during all outagesWork off of assigned schedule and maintain zero out of compliance work ordersProvide analytical support on problem wellsProvide input on new technologiesAssist other technicians during storm outages to bring wells back onlineAble to perform general PM work: testing end devices, temperature shutdowns, pressure switches, level shutdownsConduct evaluation tests on valves, motors, instruments, etcKnowledge of RTUs.
Understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshootingMust be proficient in troubleshooting using schematics, ladder logic, electrical one-line, and P&I drawingsProficient in maintaining process control loops, electronic controls, valves, and transmittersCompetencies:Advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite, proprietary software, etc)Strong initiative and self-starterAbility to perform under pressureDemonstrate ability to perform strong time management skillsAbility to keep neat and accurate recordsMulti-task orientation with skills related to work prioritizationAbility to implement cost effective solutionsAbility to work with a team and communicate with other functionsExcellent diagnostic and repair skills for complex problems in automation systemsExcellent knowledge of automation host systemsExpert in using test equipment pertaining to job, including oscilloscope, function generators, radio service monitor, etcUnderstanding of pneumatic instrumentation:

Be knowledgeable with tagging conventions, programing simulation and testingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood working knowledge of SAPUnderstanding of Importance of environmental and Safe WorkPracticesRequirements:High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Applied Science Degree in Instrumentation & Electrical or Electronics Technology preferredTwo (2) or more years of Oil & Gas Land Automation/I&E Specialist experience and working knowledge of oil and gas land production operationsMust have experience with the following: Injection Well Controllers, Facility PLC's, substations, measure and troubleshoot low voltage and DC devices including transmitters, actuators, radios, flow meters; strong PLC troubleshooting a mustMust be experienced with Rockwell Automation software including Allen Bradley, FactoryTalk, Studio 5000, Logic 500Advanced knowledge of analog and discrete instrumentation and various serial and ethernet communications protocolsAdvanced knowledge of well RTU designs, programming and troubleshootingIntermediate knowledge of maintaining PLC programs in function block, ladder logic and structured textsIntermediate knowledge of maintaining local HMI operator interfacesAbility to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervisionElectronically qualified per OSHA, up to 600VPhysical requirements Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs.
