Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement engaging instruction either in the general education classroom or in pullout sessions that lead to English language fluency in both conversational and academic situations
  • Administer annual LAS Links Assessment to identified English Learners (EL) students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure that general education classroom environments and learning experiences support ELs
  • Using the District's criteria for ESL placement, identify students who qualify for English language support services and determine the level and nature of services for each student
  • Serve as a resource to families in understanding the ESL program, as well as their students' learning progress and needs
  • Work with building principal and/or Director of Student Services to identify staff development needs in best practices in EL instruction and plan/deliver workshops to meet those needs
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, MTSS meetings and any other meetings pertaining to EL student achievement
  • Any other duties as assigned
