Biomedical Engineering Technician (BMET)

  • Wage: $29$33/hour
  • Fulltime
  • Day shift
Ensure the smooth operation of clinical equipment by adhering to the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Play a key role in the implementation of top-tier biomedical engineering management practices. Provide expert assistance in maintaining and optimizing acuity equipment vital for direct patient care.


Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced support for acuity equipment in direct patient care
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for facility clinical engineering projects and train clinical staff on technical integration of devices/systems
  • Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair complex biomedical equipment
  • Detect and report faulty operations, defective material, and unusual situations
  • Quickly resolve organizationlevel customer service issues and complaints
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, and professional competencies
  • Mastery of clinical equipment including radiological, laboratory, and medical network systems
  • Comprehensive understanding and effective communication of device usage
  • Work well with others in a team environment

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift
  • Pushing and pulling carts or equipment lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift
  • Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associate's degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician.
  • Five (5) years of medical equipment management experience
  • Knowledgeable about local and national public safety and regulatory guidelines
  • Advanced certifications and training as required
