Biomedical Engineering Technician (BMET)- Wage: $29$33/hour
- Fulltime
- Day shift
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced support for acuity equipment in direct patient care
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for facility clinical engineering projects and train clinical staff on technical integration of devices/systems
- Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair complex biomedical equipment
- Detect and report faulty operations, defective material, and unusual situations
- Quickly resolve organizationlevel customer service issues and complaints
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area
Skills
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, and professional competencies
- Mastery of clinical equipment including radiological, laboratory, and medical network systems
- Comprehensive understanding and effective communication of device usage
- Work well with others in a team environment
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift
- Pushing and pulling carts or equipment lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift
- Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate's degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician.
- Five (5) years of medical equipment management experience
- Knowledgeable about local and national public safety and regulatory guidelines
- Advanced certifications and training as required
