- Calculates electrical loads for equipment and installs wiring.
- Determines equipment and supplies required for jobs by reading code books and blueprints.
- Keeps abreast of changes in the Electrical Code and Regulations and makes recommendations on their impacts on the City.
- Maintains the inventory of supplies used and replaces as needed.
- Perform Operations & Maintenance duties as assigned.

Description
Scope of Work
Troubleshoots and maintains electrical, SCADA and control equipment for the well field, Purification Plant, Water Pollution Control Plant, water storage towers, booster station.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the development of the budget and makes recommendations for purchases and capital items to the appropriate division during the annual budget process.
Ability to sit, stand and transport self from building to building. Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various work sites. Employees may work in extreme temperatures bending, kneeling, twisting, and climbing to perform duties. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and electricity. Employees may be exposed to communicable diseases while completing tasks.
Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs., climb stairs, climb elevated storage ladders up to 150ft in height and work effectively at that height, and open access hatches.
Required QualificationsEmployee communicates with other employees and the public, as necessary.
Ability to read operator's manuals, blueprints, and schematics to maintain electrical, SCADA, and control equipment throughout the Utilities Department in good working order.
High school diploma or equivalent required, plus two years of experience.
A valid Apprentice Electrician license from the State of Texas orhaving successfully completed 12 college hours of electronics coursework would be preferred.
Valid Texas driver's license is required. Must also obtain a valid state of Texas class 'C' or above water works license.
