  • Follows corporate and hospital regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Wears required identification while on duty
  • Acts as receptionist. (Telephone Etiquette)
  • Ensure patients After Visit Summary (AVS) is scanned into EPIC chart.
  • Notifies Police Department of victims of violent crimes who come into the Emergency Deportment unaccompanied.
  • Responsible for inputting data into the EPIC system that is accurate, valid and complete.
  • Responsible for verifying that patient's insurance is correct and uptodate by performing RTE function in EPIC. Collects copay when indicated.
  • Prepares AVS, EKG's. and any other patient forms for
- pick up by Medical Records

  • Obtains biographical, demographical, and financial information.
  • Issues Advance Directives information and Bill of Rights.
  • Opens all emergency room visits in EPIC (mini registration)
  • Contacts the operator to page Physicians for constitution as necessary.
  • Places patient's preprinted labels on all medical documents.
  • Notifies Unit Manager/AOD of gun sho1 wounds, stabbings and other crisis management situations in the ED.
  • Notifies clergy as necessary, i.e., codes, traumas.
  • Provides patients with telephone number and hours of clinics when required.
  • Notify Admitting Deportment of all deaths ASAP (within 15 minutes of expiration)
  • Pages anesthesia, physician's for consultation, Trauma team, portable Xray, respiratory therapy and Stroke Team.
  • Performs other departmental ossignmen1s, as deemed by your Supervisor m Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and
  • Six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience interacting with the public, such as processing sales; taking, processing, and delivering orders; obtaining and dispensing information; listening to and resolving customers concerns, problems, and complaints; and/or performing related customer service activities.
