- Under supervision, performs various tasks like direct patient care across multiple modalities such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, ultrafiltration, continuous renal replacement therapy, and apheresis.
- Supervises and guides Patient Care Technicians and clerical staff, offering education to ICU staff for CRRT.
- Delivers direct patient care in the Inpatient Renal Replacement and Apheresis Services setting, following prescribed treatment techniques for various modalities like hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapies, ultrafiltration, and apheresis.
- Adjusts treatment plans based on patient responses, consulting with the appropriate physician and healthcare team members as needed.
- Provides efficient and safe care, ensuring timely delivery of services.
- Reports patient status effectively during shift changes, making scheduling adjustments for critical cases.
- Manages intradialytic transfusions and communicates with the healthcare team for coordinated patient care.
- Ensures proper documentation of all treatment information and participates in quality improvement activities.
- Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members to adapt and coordinate daily patient care plans.
- Acts as a resource for hospital staff regarding dialysis-related issues.
- Reports incidents and concerns to the appropriate parties and complies with all policies and procedures.
- Participates in various professional development activities and projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- This role involves direct patient care, interaction with various healthcare professionals, travel between facilities, and being on call rotation.
- Employees may encounter potentially infectious materials and must be capable of heavy lifting and movement of equipment.
- Provides supervision to Patient Care Technicians and clerical staff, offering guidance and education as needed.
- Current state licensure is required.
- Must stay updated on nephrology advancements and possess relevant certifications in Nephrology Nursing or Apheresis Nursing.
- Compliance with state practice requirements.

- Prior experience in nephrology and strong assessment skills in critical care settings.
