This is a 100% Contract position for 1 year with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status.

DESCRIPTION:


Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Projects Coordinator will be responsible for contributing to new and ongoing research projects and programs at the Center for Microbiome Innovation.


Provide high-level administrative support for programs and special projects of a complex nature; coordinating relations with faculty, staff, students, private industry, and government organizations; organizing and prioritizing reports and information requests for timely completion; troubleshooting and independently resolving assorted operational problems; acting as a liaison for project directors with vendors, campus units, public and private agencies, national and international colleagues, and publishing houses.


Act as a liaison between the projects/programs, industry sponsors, and participating member groups; assisting in the coordination of new research initiatives and educational programs; planning large research group events including technical coordination of demonstrations; arranging meetings among current and potential investigators and with industry partners; assist with complex travel and meeting calendars for project participants; coordinate and execute arrangements for meetings, seminars, and conferences.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Excellent analytical skills to make recommendations on policy or procedure changes to business office to improve practices.
  • Proven ability to utilize spreadsheets and databases to interpret and organize resource and research information and be able to provide customized reports to researchers and analysts as needed. Skill in independently researching compiling, organizing, interpreting and selecting data and materials from various sources. Ability to extract and analyze information from large and complex databases.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to accurately review and process materials dealing within a broad spectrum of issues.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with mínimal supervision.
  • Experience working on proposals, grants, or similar documents that require following guidelines, a specified format, within a tight timeframe.
  • Demonstrated experience in working cooperatively in an academic research setting. Excellent diplomacy and tact to effectively work with a diverse group at all levels of the organization, including staff, students, UC faculty, governmental officials, diplomats, and business community leaders.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:


  • This position is eligible for a Hybrid flexible work arrangement, which could include a nonstandard work schedule, and/or the ability to work offsite part of the time.

Annual Full Pay Range:
$63,580 - $98,282 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)


Hourly Equivalent:
$ $47.07

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
