Your tasks as a surveying technician in Wake Village will include:

  • Working both indoors and outdoors
  • Conducting surveys of land and buildings
  • Digital maintenance of property records in the cadastre
  • Researching existing data
  • Compiling information for various surveying departments
  • Providing customer service

Training process:

  • The training to become a surveying technician takes 3 years
  • In the second year of training, if you meet the requirements, you can begin the KIAStudium at the University of Bochum
Training to become a surveying technician:

  • Practical training will take place at the Office for Geoinformation, Property and Cadastre
  • The vocational school classes will be held in block form at the FritzHensslerBerufskolleg in Dortmund
  • The following topics will be covered in the training: planning, conducting, and evaluating surveys, collecting and acquiring geodata, knowledge of the cadastre, using information and communication systems, and working with computeraided and traditional measuring devices, as well as customeroriented work

Studying:

  • The standard study period is 9 semesters
  • In the second and third year of training, the study will only take place parttime (twice a week)
  • Upon successful completion, you will receive a Bachelor of Engineering degree
