Job Summary:
The General Production Worker performs various tasks supporting multiple production cells helping to produce high quality sheet metal parts according to customer specifications and AMG procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely accomplishes all production support tasks in accordance with customer specifications, work orders, blueprints.
Safely and properly uses forklifts, cranes and other lifting devises with handling parts and scrap materials too heavy for a one person lift moving parts and materials within and between production work areas.
Safely uses power tools and hand tools to remove burrs, sharp edges, and splatter from parts.
Passivating welded parts in accordance with work orders and quality process control documentation.
Etching and otherwise marking parts according to blueprints and work orders using manual and automated equipment.
Drilling, cutting, tapping parts using hand and power tools.
Assists with material distribution between production cells ensuring materials are properly marked, documented, and stored.
Ensures work areas are kept clean and safe through good housekeeping practices.
Ensures parts are sorted and stacked in an organized manner for subsequent manufacturing processes.
Ensures production priorities and schedules are met or exceeded.
Paint preparation of parts using solvents, power and hand tools.
Assists other production cells performing tasks the same as, or similar to their assigned work area to help meet production goals.
Equipment:
- Forklifts, overhead cranes and other lifting devices
- Various pneumatic and electric grinders and other power tools
- Precision measurement equipment using metric and imperial units
Specialized Training:
- Forklift certification (in house training)
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
- Ability to accurately use basic measuring tools in imperial and metric units
- Blueprint reading skills
- Ability to safely and properly use powered and hand tools
- Knowledge of various metal alloys and ability to identify the different types
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, deal with various painting materials and painting preparation processes involving different solvents.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
