    Description

    The Sales Associate is to assist the flooring sales team in their daily activities, handle incidental/small sales opportunities and develop the knowledge/skills necessary to be a successful account manager. The position needs to focus on learning the commercial flooring business, Storr's product and service offering, how work gets done at Storr, and effective selling skills. This position must demonstrate initiative, creativity, attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and communications with the sales team and customers. A significant part of this person's responsibility will be to provide backup estimating support to the team.

    **Primary Responsibilities:**

    Product research and selection

    Site visits / Customer meetings

    Generating proposals and presentations, bid responses

    Mock-ups

    Gathering vendor information

    Project Coordination with end-users

    Develop estimating skills necessary to provide backup support for the primary estimator. Perform Material takeoffs estimating the product needed for a specific project.

    Visit the field projects on a periodic basis.

    Properly follow-up on out-of-line situations related to assigned projects. (Out-of-line situations are those situations when things don't go as planned. Be able to "think on your feet" and solve problems.)

    Complete all assigned training objectives and develop the selling skills necessary to be an effective account manager.

    Develop a working knowledge of the internal systems and processes at Storr

    Achieve quarterly goals and activities, as assigned by management

    Develop knowledge of the products and services that Storr markets.

    Gain the product knowledge and selling skills to transition into an account manager role within 18 months.

    Input selling activity into the CRM / Coordinate the order fulfillment on any orders booked under your name

    Meet with prospects, as requested by sales. Learn about their needs. Identify the product/ service solution and prepare a quotation. This applies to opportunities

    Achieve targeted customer survey scores and accuracy goals

    **Skills and Abilities:**

    Proficient in reading AutoCAD drawings.

    Proficient with Hedberg Software

    Ability to learn Callidus estimating software

    Ability to deliver knowledge-based expertise and consulting that adds value and separates Storr

    Office Environments as an industry leader and solution provider.

    Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

    Demonstrated creative ability and problem-solving skills

    Strong communication and presentation skills

    Comfortable with budget discussions estimates, contracts, margins, etc.

    Enjoys client interaction and can engage in a "sales" discussion.

    Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high-energy, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
