Max Kirschling

Graduated, with honors, from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Meteorology in December 2020. I interned at Carolina Weather Authority performing weather forecasts for North and South Carolina. Weather was a great challenge, but I found passion in Geospatial Information Science. I completed various semester-long projects including municipal bus network analysis, residential growth projections and associated park & rec expansion, and storm run-off analysis following large construction projects in an urban environment. Before and during college, I spent a total of 15.5 years at Trader Joe's with a demonstrated history of logistics management, sales, brand building, and especially customer service.

I spent about a year working as an intern for Carolina Weather Authority doing weather forecasting for North and South Carolina in 2020. Although I have no professional experience in GIS, I have a great deal of experience from school. To keep my skills fresh after college, I also started an Etsy shop where I created and sold elevation maps of different maps using data from the USGS. Though lacking in professional GIS experience, I am excited to start gaining more experience and using my skills in this field.

I graduated Cum Laude with a 3.378 GPA from North Carolina State University in December of 2020. I received a B.S. in Meteorology, but my primary focus was in Geospatial Information Science and geospatial modeling. I Completed 3 semester long GIS projects, two of which focused on producing a single deliverable, and one was more of a case study (all available upon request):

• Assessing the Impact of Construction Projects on Stream Flow and Flooding in an Urban Setting
• Identifying ideal locations to build new park facilities by projecting Wake county's future residential growth based on the previous 10 years of census/parcel data
• Analysis of the GoCary bus network and ridership rates to determine most used routes, and then finding ideal locations to expand the network to promote ridership growth
