Job Summary

The Controller will have primary responsibility for the compilation, analysis and communication to physicians on their practice metrics as well as formalize processes around clinical performance improvements.

Job Duties

Prepare timely financial statements and report in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Prepare supporting information for the year end audit and liaise with external auditors as necessary. Prepare/Assist in required tax filings. Prepare yearly operating budget with administrative consult. Prepare analysis of Accounts Receivable and Reserve Balances. Establish and accumulate statistical data trends needed for internal and external reporting and report and present as necessary. Direct and oversee the booking functions of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Responsible for payroll review including filing taxes and benefit analysis. Prepare work papers for Regulatory Agency requirements. Responsible for special projects, such as periodic audits, pro forma financial reporting, and valuations. Work with parent company to consolidate financials. Manage/direct accounting personnel.

Job Specifications

A Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare or related field is required.

Candidate must be proficient with General Ledger reporting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable knowledge, Payroll functions and general tax experience.

A minimum three years of experience in business finance and accounting services is required.

Experience in healthcare, specifically physician practice accounting is preferred, along with an understanding of electronic medical records in particular Cerner Community Works.
