    American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ED Flow Navigator role in a Level II trauma center Emergency Department, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience including 1 year in an ER setting.

    Responsibilities

    • Work setting is a high-volume Emergency Department (101 beds) within a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
    • Typical patient ratio is 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
    • Unit is supported by techs (cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage) and unit clerks on days and nights
    • Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
    • Documentation system is Cerner
    • Shift hours are 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (day shift, 12-hour shifts)
    • Scheduling requires every other weekend availability; scheduling must meet department needs
    • No floating outside of the ED, but must be open to floating to all sections within the ED
    • Role functions as an ED Flow Navigator, requiring flexibility to work across all sections of the Emergency Department
    • Patient experience standards include AIDET communication framework, respectful behavior, and keeping patient boards and patients updated throughout their visit
    • Navy scrubs are required
    • The department is known for strong teamwork and a welcoming culture, proudly serving a highly multicultural community with over 120 languages represented in the surrounding area
    • No work history gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
    • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

    Requirements

    • Active NC or compact RN license required
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
    • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) strongly preferred
    • Required certifications prior to start: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
    • ENPC required within 90 days of hire
    • All certifications must be AHA or ARC issued and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
    • Prior HCA experience preferred
    • Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
    • Must be able to work flexibly across all areas of the ED
    • SSN and DOB required for consideration
    • One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
