McElmurry FarmsWelcome to McElmurry Farms We are a 2400-acre row crop operation located in Bellevue, Michigan. We're seeking a self-driven Farm Operations Manager to lead our team. This role is designed for a proactive, experienced individual who values autonomy and seeks a long-term career opportunity.


In the last three years, the farm has invested in a new grain leg to service a new corn dryer and 250,000 bushels in storage.

Our farm has purchased a new 8-wheeler and a s780 Combine, a new corn head, a new draper head, a high-speed planter add-on, and a bean conditioning system.

Select and manage the use of fertilizers, seeds, and other production inputs efficiently. Manage operator and staff selection, training, and performance, fostering a culture of excellence and growth. Oversee farm operating budget, optimizing resources for growth and profitability.

Operate, maintain, and repair key farm equipment, including a John Deere 780 combine with a 16-row head, and a 250,000 bushel grain elevator.

Maintain and enhance farm infrastructure and capital improvements. Participate in USDA and conservation programs, ensuring compliance and engagement. Find and lead leased properties to expand farming operations. Participate in Lead lease negotiations for farm expansion.


What does it take to be successful in this role? A bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field, with additional certifications such as a pesticide applicator and spray licenses, is highly desirable.

Equivalent Experience will also be strongly considered. Substantial farm management experience, with a strong emphasis on row crop production.

Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain farm machinery, especially a John Deere 780 combine. Experience in repairing farm equipment is essential. The possession of relevant pesticide and chemical licenses indicates a comprehensive understanding of crop protection and safety standards. Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, capable of managing a team and operations independently.

Must be able to communicate well and have basic Excel and word processing abilities.
