- Provide effective and respectful leadership to associates by planning appropriate staffing levels, interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training.
- Communicate performance expectations and provide feedback on performance (semiannually), recognition/celebration, coaching, counseling reports and/or discipline.
- Create career growth opportunities and associate development plans.
- Understand skillsets and capabilities of Associates and monitor and review work products they prepare and report on performance while articulating coaching notes throughout the process.
- Serve as the Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients.
- Advise clients on a full range of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and general business activities.
- Manage client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance.
- Promote the Firm to clients, business associates, and through community events.
- Prepare tax returns and provide detailed review and analysis of tax returns.
- Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a nontechnical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm.
- Review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards.
- Assist with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
- Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
- Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient in computer software programs.
- Retain general knowledge regarding FASB and IRC.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Preferred MBA or related degree.
- CPA or EA.
- Preferred 710 years of related tax experience.
- Preferred 35 years of related management experience.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
