    Description


    Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, Indirect Tax this role will be part of the Corporate Tax team by assisting the Indirect Tax team.

    The individual will ensure the accurate and timely filings of sales and use tax, property tax, unclaimed property, and Registrations for all North American legal entities.

    In addition, as an Indirect Tax Manager will also be expected to assist the Senior Tax Manager with handling of indirect tax audits.

    The reconciling and gathering information to provide to the auditors.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    Compliance

    – The role is to assist in the preparation of sales and use tax returns for both the US and Canada. Gathering reports from multiple systems and multiple areas of the company, having the ability to validate, Analyze, prepare returns, and remit payments before the filing deadlines.
    Resale/Exemption certificates –

    Being able to discuss, request and properly maintain documentation for exempting customers.
    Self-Assessment Process –


    Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for maintaining the self-assessment process and ensuring that self-assessed tax or consumers use tax flows through the return remittance process.

    Reconciliations –

    Individual in this role must be familiar with performing reconciliations of sales tax and property tax accounts.

    Verify the accuracy of the general ledger indirect tax accrual accounts and be able to assist Senior Manager in documenting and validating reconciled items.

    Audits –


    Indirect Tax Manager will be required to assist Senior tax manager in coordinating state indirect tax audits, gather audit information, prepare and review responses to state audit inquiries and communicate audit status and result.

    Research –

    Ability to research various tax issues and being able to communicate results and provide recommendations when necessary.
    Tax Technology –


    familiar with the different types of indirect tax software being used and being able to update and access the tax matrices and reporting within each.

    Sox Controls –

    Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for assisting Senior tax manager in maintaining sox controls.

    This consist of gathering information from the system and validating tax collected vs remitted, as well as tax rates and matrices are all up to date.

    Also, to include all other pertinent information within the systems are up to date and being calculated correctly.
    Process Improvement –

    Indirect Tax Manager will assist Senior Manager in helping Identify any improvements that are needed within our processes. In addition, the lead auditor will begin helping with making sure our processes are well documented as well.

    Ability to effectively communicate issues.
    Education/Experience
    BS in Finance or Accounting required.
    5 years' experience working in an Indirect Tax environment in either a corporation or public accounting firm.
    Experience in indirect tax software a plus – Vertex, Avalara, and Thomson Reuters (OneSource)

    Salary Ranges:
    $111,000 - $128,000
