Job Summary


This position will be responsible for the Company's performance management/monitoring and nationwide strategic business planning such as managerial accounting, monthly/quarterly/annual performance reporting, business planning and market/marketing analyses.

This position will also support the CEO, EVP and SVP, Strategic Planning in the area of managerial accounting and budgeting, management/operational reporting, data analysis including predictive analysis, data governance, business process improvement, and other work including administrative assistance to department management as needed.

The individual will play a key role as a liaison to various TMM/TMNAS departments to fully utilize its function/expertise in the areas noted above.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Create regular Managerial Accounting and Management/Operational reports on financial/operational performance for internal use (for senior management and various TMA departments including Marketing, Underwriting and Claims).
  • Present analysis at various executive meetings when needed.
  • Work closely with TMA/TMNAS departments including the above TMA departments and TMNAS Finance, Actuarial, and IT to timely and accurately develop the above reports.
  • Assist in developing TMA's annual/midterm business plan/budget projections.
  • Evaluate business plans of business segments and provide analytical recommendations where appropriate.
  • Consult department and organization level business plans/budgets related to performance targets, actions to mitigate strategy and targeted performance gaps.
  • Establish and maintain proper business processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of such data, collaborating with TMNAS IT, Finance, and Internal Audit.
  • Conduct various market/marketing analysis, including market and competitor analysis, market opportunity analyses, and predictive model analyses, collaborating with Marketing, Underwriting, and Claims departments; make recommendations accordingly.
  • Develop access to a variety of market intelligence sources for strategy development and monitoring purposes.
  • Conduct ESG market research and prepare bimonthly ESG committee meeting materials
  • Act as PMO for BPO initiatives, including managing WNS Reporting and Analytics team
  • Assist CEO, EVP and SVP, Strategic Planning's decision making on major corporatewide projects including facilitating crossfunctional internal projects.
  • Establish and build strong working relations and partnerships with Business Units and Senior Management.
  • Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Company.
  • Provide administrative backup support for department management including arranging meetings, travel arrangements, greeting guests and customers in traditional Japanese manner as needed.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual communication skills preferred (English and Japanese)
  • Three+ years of property/casualty insurance industry experience preferred
  • Consulting industry experience preferred
  • Secretary or Executive Assistant experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience on marketing, IT, business process, project management preferred
  • Working proficiency of Microsoft Office, and strong knowledge/skills in Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL (A PLUS)
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques, ability to meet or exceed customer service needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
  • Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide sol
