Holland & Knight is hiring a Software Engineer to join its Workflow Design & Automation team. Our team's focus is on the design and build of automation products for internal and external markets. We seek a creative thinker with the ability to visualize solutions for emerging concepts. You will work with a lean, inter-disciplinary team of technologists and attorneys.

Responsibilities:

In this position, the Software Engineer will:
collaborate closely with cross-functional technical and legal teams to develop ideal business processes and automate manual work;
translate business needs/requirements into usable systems and enhancements;
create functional design specifications for the solutions to be implemented;
design, develop, test and deploy to AWS and other cloud environments;
identify and build integrations with other business tools/applications via third-party APIs;
develop, automate, and maintain data feeds using scripting languages into and out of the applications;
update existing applications and workflows; and,
create new applications or add new functionalities to existing applications.


Job Requirements:
In this position the Software Engineer will have proven professional experience with:
Python, SQL and Bash;
design and implementation of CI/CD integration;
successful development in AWS using core features of that environment , and understanding of the DevOps philosophy
AWS native applications (Comprehend/Transcribe/Translate, etc.) and databases (DynamoDB);
server-less design concepts and patterns;
writing and testing Lambda functions; and,
Amazon API's for integration.


Must also be:
a creative thinker with experience with customized scripting and automation; and,
highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Experience :

The ideal candidate will have:
a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming, or related field;
legal industry knowledge helpful;
a customer-focused mindset and ability to work collaboratively with the team; and
five years' relevant programming experience

This position may be filled in New York, Colorado or California.

In accordance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law, New York City Human Rights Law, the Colorado Equal Pay Act, and the California Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position in New York State is $106,000 - $192,000/year in New York City is $128,000 - $192,000/year, in Colorado is $112,000 - $168,000/year, and in California is $122,000 - $200,000/year.

These ranges are specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
