    Company Overview

    Protos has experienced significant growth in recent years, both organically and through acquisitions.

    Although Protos was originally established in 2006, the companies combined under the Protos umbrella have been in business for more than 150 years and the enterprise is built on an exceptionally strong financial foundation with a long history of operational excellence.

    Through its parent company Security Services Holdings LLC, Protos has been majority owned since February 2019 by Southfield Capital, a Greenwich, CT based private equity investment firm.

    Southfield Capital has added significant financial strength, corporate governance, as well as both strategic and acquisition support.


    Summary:


    This position is primarily responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures by performing the following duties.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    Ensure compliance with U.S.

    GAAPCompile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts for two Subsidiary companiesEstablish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control proceduresEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and proceduresEnsure all financial reporting deadlines are metPrepare financial management reportsEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closes are completed and work with subsidiary companies to ensure complianceReview the local reporting packages submitted by the subsidiary companies, provide feedback and ensure appropriate changes are completedAssist subsidiary companies with questions and resolve issuesReconcile general ledger accounts and review accounts for accuracy for subsidiary companiesBook required journal entries in accordance with properly executed schedulesCoordinate the intercompany process with other subsidiary companiesResolves accounting discrepancies and irregularitiesMonitors and supports taxation issuesFinancial audit preparation and coordinate the audit processEnsures accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses by means of reviewing key calculations and accruals at subsidiary companiesReconciles and analyzes on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenuesAnalyzes financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problemsPerforms other duties as assigned.

    File Sales Tax on a monthly basis

    Education / Experience:


    Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting; 6+ years of related experience; Public Accounting experience required; CPA desired.


    Computer Skills:


    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting Software (Sage Intacct preferred); Payroll Systems (ADP Workforce Now); Spreadsheet Software (Excel) intermediate/high level; Word Processing Software (Word); Presentation Software (PowerPoint); Visio Proprietary Software.


    Other Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
    Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required.
    Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
    Detail oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude.
    Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision.

    Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Ability to travel domestically.
