    Contract Licensed Vocational Nurse for School Year

    ProCare Therapy is looking for a compassionate licensed vocational nurse to join our team for the remainder of the school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.The selected LVNwill be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy for a school districtlocated in Wheatland, CA.

    The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting student health and wellness within our educational community. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic illnesses or injuries.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
    • Monitor students with special health needs, such as diabetes, asthma, allergies, etc.
    • Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health concerns among students.
    • Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions.
    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote a healthy school environment.
    • Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
    • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state regulations.
    • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
    • Participate in school safety drills and emergency preparedness activities.
    • Stay current on best practices and guidelines in school nursing and healthcare

    Caseload:

    • Full time: hours/week
    • Hours: 7:30- 3:30
    • Monday - Friday
    • LVN will be responsible for providing 1:1 medical support and floating to health office as needed
    • Responsibilities: diabetic care, asthma care, medication administration, g-tube care, toileting/changing, classroom assistance, communicating with staff and parents,etc.

    Requirements:

    • Active LVN licensed in California
    • Associates in Nursing
    • CPR & BLS certified
    • Previous pediatric or school nursing experience is preferred
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
