Job Title:
Geospatial Data Scientist


Location:
Washington-DC, Hybrid 3 Days


Job Type:
Contract
6 Months


Salary:
$ 65-70 per hour.


Key Responsibilities:
Utilize Python or R programming languages to develop and implement machine learning algorithms for geospatial data analysis.

Work with ESRI software and other GIS platforms to perform spatial analysis and visualization.


Utilize remote sensing software packages such as ENVI, ArcGIS, QGIS, and geospatial libraries including GDAL, Fiona, and Pyproj for data processing and analysis.

Develop and automate processes to identify and resolve contradictions in the data to produce consensus estimates.

Conduct data extrapolation and data fusion to enhance the accuracy and completeness of geospatial datasets.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.

Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geospatial data analysis, machine learning, and remote sensing technologies.


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geoinformatics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.


Minimum of 10 years of proven experience as an ML Engineer or similar role, with a focus on geospatial data analysis.

Strong expertise in AI and ML techniques applied to GIS data.

Proficiency in Python or R programming languages.

Experience with ESRI software and GIS data is highly desirable.

Familiarity with remote sensing software packages (e.g., ENVI, ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial libraries (e.g., GDAL, Fiona, Pyproj).

Deep understanding of algorithms and statistical methods.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

Clearance Requirement:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Experience with AWS Sagemaker is a plus.
