Mantis Innovation is a leading turnkey facility consulting company that delivers smart, sustainable solutions to improve facility performance across key functions, including energy procurement, asset management, and energy efficiency.

We provide services to the entire facility, inside and out, and can impact 70% of critical budget allocations for operations.

Our company relies on proprietary software tools to offer a full suite of services, including energy procurement and demand management; solar, roofing, building envelope, and pavement assessment and maintenance; and LED lighting, HVAC/mechanical, and building automation systems design and implementation.


As the Corporate Controller at Mantis Innovation, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the general accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and tax compliance.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, implementing effective internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and oversee the daytoday operations of the accounting department, including AP, AR, and tax functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthend and yearend close processes.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to optimize financial processes and systems.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Manage daily corporate banking and cashflow functions including but not limited to optimally transferring cash between divisions, consolidating cashflow forecast files, analyzing variances, and leading the weekly calls.
  • Lead consolidation of financials during the monthly closing process including preparation of the monthly forecasting and annual budget in Adaptive Insights.
  • Steward credit card process at the corporate level ensuring all receipts are submitted and credit limit is maintained appropriately.
  • Implement changes as per GAAP requirements, including drafting memos and obtaining concurrence from external auditors.
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary.
  • Expected travel 25%

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business field
  • Experience with Intacct, NetSuite, or other midrange, cloudbased accounting software.
  • 15+ yrs of progressive accounting experience, 10+ yrs in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Experience working with private equitybacked companies preferred.
  • Experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction industries preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • MBA is a plus.
