POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a Production Planner to join our Production Control team in Chino, CA.

This position is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials between production cells and departments to guarantee accurate and timely execution of orders, to satisfy Customers' needs.


PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Accurately creates and maintains bills of material, routings, and work orders
  • Accurately maintains MRP data to ensure proper stocking levels are kept and purchased parts and materials are delivered on time
  • Plans and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Coordinates with other planners to establish sequence and lead time of each operation, to meet ship dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders
  • Plans sequence of fabrication and assembly for manufacturing
  • Confers with management team to determine status of assigned projects
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet and accommodate to unforeseen condition, to avoid impact to our customers
  • Prepares production reports
  • Prepares purchase requisitions to obtain purchased parts and materials. Communicates outside service needs through work orders, requisitions, and reports
  • Completes status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory
  • Interacts with plant management and supervisory team daily, to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies and communicate status of orders as requested by Customer Service
  • Researches order and delivery discrepancies and resolve MRP related issues. Takes appropriate corrective actions to prevent issues and delays
  • Issues and releases work order packages (traveler) including work orders, drawings, instructions for manufacturing operations, quality checklists and required product identification labels
  • Stays informed of current projects, manufacturing workload, and manufacturing processes
  • Develops and achieves departmental/company goals and controls. Makes suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity
  • Sets the example by actively contributing to department and company goals
  • Takes initiative and seeks additional training or direction as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma, or GED equivalent with additional college credits, or degree preferred in business or supply chain management
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant production planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to utilize MRP and ERP systems
  • Must have a working knowledge of inventory control and scheduling
  • Strong communication skills in both oral and written
  • Excellent priority management, time management and organizational skills

Pay:
$70, $85,000.00 per year
