Job Summary and Qualifications:

The Medical Simulation Specialist is responsible for integrating, maintaining, and operating computer and audio-video (AV) technology. This includes manikin and surrounding simulation lab equipment. The Medical Simulation Specialist plays an essential role in facilitating medical simulation for the division.


What you will do in this role:

  • Demonstrates clinical competence providing genetic counseling within Oncology setting.
  • Initiates and documents patient education including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.
  • Plays a critical role in the coordination of care between the Oncology Center, primary Oncologist, subspecialty health care providers and inpatient units.
  • Participates in the development of standards of care, practice and performance guidelines, policy and procedures and patient education related to genetic counseling.
  • Utilizes expertise in area of specialization to provide consultation services to health care providers and consumers.
  • Demonstrates leadership through effective communication with departmental staff, physicians, nurses and other genetic counselors, and internal/external customers.
  • Participates in Oncology Center continuous quality improvement and Joint Commission activities.
  • Utilizes and facilitates research that supports and advances genetic counseling.
  • Demonstrates professional growth and leadership through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.

What qualifications you will need:


  • 02 years of experience in a genetic counseling position
  • MS in Genetic Counseling from an ABGCaccredited institution
  • Board Certified OR Board Eligible by the American Board of Medical Genetics or the American Board of Genetic Counseling preferred.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to marketwide facilities, if needed.
