BARISTA - GJELINA NYC

Salary Range:
$18 Min Wage to $20 per hour (DOE and state)

The Barista is responsible for maintaining and operating the barista station up to Gjelina's Group standards.

This includes delivering outstanding customer service, possessing a thorough knowledge of our coffee and tea offerings, and ensuring quality control across all site coffee and tea offerings.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Barista will consistently practice proper cleaning procedures and implement preventative maintenance measures for both espresso and brewing equipment
  • Continuously learning about our Coffee beans, Teas, sourcing, while also nurturing your own curiosity and expertise through inhouse tastings, pairing and training sessions.
  • Ability to multitask in highvolume service
  • Operate espresso machines and other equipment to make beverages according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
  • Running Hot Beverages to guests through out the restaurant
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Must be able to climb sets of stairs, repetitively, throughout a shift
  • Must be able to move, pull, push, carry or lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and 30 pounds
Regularly

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands regularly and in frequent or
- repetitive motions

  • Must be able to reach items at varying height levels (on shelves, on ground, etc.)
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
  • Must be able to work in conditions of environmental exposure to cold, heat, water, and
- cleaning materials.

  • Must be able to remain focused in a fastpaced and everchanging environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings,
- weekends, and holidays


CERTIFICATES & TRAINING:


  • NYC Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
  • NY Food Handler Certification Must understand how to abide by the rules of the Department of Health related to Food Service and Employee + Guest Safety
