Staff working in our programs develop the cross-cultural competence necessary for success in a professional workforce, engage with families and children who are culturally and socioeconomically diverse, and gain experience supporting social and emotional development in young people.

Seasonal camp staff work on an hourly basis for 32 to 36 hours per week from June 25 or 26 (depending on position) to August 16 (including orientation and training).

Instructor Responsibilities Include:


  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children in all programs
  • Design, lead, and run all creative activities for day camp programs with each age group of campers
  • Create lesson plans for up to 4 lessons per day based on weekly themes and objectives
  • Modify lessons to be appropriate for various ages and abilities
  • Assist with serving lunches, breakfasts, and snacks
  • Assist with general management of camp facility
  • Communicate with directors/administrators around any camper issues
  • Participate in supervision with a member of admin team 1x/week
  • Perform evaluations and assessments of program activities pre
- and post-season


Program Coordinator Responsibilities Include:


  • All of the above with added administrative duties:
  • Taking attendance
  • Organizing and serving meal times
  • Supervising staff
  • Organizing and running field trips
  • Overseeing transportation
  • Leading onthejob training experiences for younger staff
  • Communicating with Program Director and Co-Executive Director to ensure programs are running smoothly, children are safe and having fun, activities are delivered as planned with progress toward camper goals, parents are well informed on a daily and weekly basis, and facilities are respected and well maintained.

Required Skills and Experience for all Positions:

  • Knowledge and experience in specialty area
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience working with elementary age children
  • Experience supervising children preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of culturally competent socialemotional learning concepts
  • Ability to participate in activities of camp (including swimming)

All Summer Camp Staff Must:


  • Clear CORI and SORI background checks
  • Provide documentation of a physical exam by a doctor within prior 12 months
  • Provide documentation of uptodate immunizations
